  1. It is recommended that the duct systems be cleaned when a HVAC cleanliness inspection or building history indicates one or more of the following:

  2. The HVAC system is contaminated with an accumulation of particulate;·    

  3. The system performance is compromised due to contamination build-up;·    

  4. The system has been determined to be a source of unacceptable odors;·    

  5. The system is discharging visible dirt or debris into the conditioned space;

  6. The system has been contaminated as a result of fire, smoke, and/or water damage;

  7. The system has been infested with birds, rodents, insects, or their byproducts;

  8. The system has been determined to be at risk for fire hazard;

  9. The system has become contaminated with construction debris or dust;

  10. Mold contamination 

  11. As part of an HVAC maintenance program as defined in ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180;

  12. As part of the HVAC equipment manufacturers recommended maintenance practices;
